No. UNA is an independent work, made by one member of the community it serves. It is not built, reviewed, sponsored, or endorsed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and it has no connection to the Church’s official apps or systems.
What independent means in practice
- No official standing. Nothing on this site or in the app is Church material, and UNA speaks only for its maker — never for the Church.
- Quotes are teachings, not endorsements. Where this site quotes Church leaders, the quotes are short, attributed, public General Conference teachings about keeping records. They are shared with reverence. They do not imply that any leader or the Church has reviewed or approved UNA.
- No connection to Church accounts. UNA’s first release does not connect to FamilySearch, Gospel Library, or a Church account in any way. (If you’re weighing UNA against FamilySearch Memories, this page maps which is for what.)
- Money moves only at published prices. UNA never takes investments or donations, and never asks for money person-to-person. In the first release, every purchase happens through Apple’s App Store; any purchase UNA ever offers will appear only in the app or on this site, priced in plain dollars first. If someone asks you for money in UNA’s name anywhere else, it isn’t UNA.
Why say all this so plainly?
Because you shouldn’t have to guess. Members deserve to know exactly what is official and what is independent, and an independent maker earns trust by volunteering the line, not blurring it. The maker of UNA is a member building a private place for his own community — nothing more, and nothing hidden.
